Description

Has the past year felt unusually stressful? Is the fast-moving, digital world overwhelming your sense of purpose and focus? Do you simply need time to reset your spiritual compass, spend time in prayer, and renew your relationship with God? These are some of the many reasons that men break away to attend Our Lady of the Lake Annual Men’s Retreat at Mount Angel Abbey. Will you join us this year? Whom will you invite to attend?

Our Men’s Retreat is set for Friday through Sunday, January 26-28, 2018. In a new format this year,Fr. Pat Hannon, CSC will be our retreat director. Fr. Pat is a Holy Cross priest and English Professor at the University of Portland, an accomplished author, and gifted storyteller. Expect lively presentations, thought-provoking questions, and good discussions! Time for personal prayer in the peaceful abbey, communal prayer with the monks, social time with other retreatants, and, of course, the great Abbey food are all part of the retreat benefits.

Check in is on Friday at 4:30 PM, check out Sunday at 1:00 PM. This year we are encouraging men to take the day off, arrive earlier on Friday afternoon to spend time in prayer, reflection, solitude, and to gather for dinner before the retreat begins. The retreat fee of $235 provides all lodging, meals and retreat materials. Retreat “fee subsidies” are available.

The retreat books up quickly. We strongly suggest signing up immediately to secure a spot. Are you able to “pay it forward” and offer part or full scholarships? Your generosity would be greatly appreciated. Please send requests or bequests to Tom Tomaszek, tomt@ollparish.com.

Thank you for your prayers for the men who will attend – that God might renew them in faith, hope and love.
